Electromagnetic Lab

KSC Electromagnetic Lab (EML)

NASA Kennedy Space Center’s Electromagnetic Lab (EML) is the center’s multi-discipline test facility used for electromagnetic design certification for electrical systems, electromagnetic environment development, and electromagnetic operational validation.  The EML team has a proven track record, having successfully supported large programs such as the Space Shuttle and International Space Station, as well as smaller projects such as CubeSat test and development for a local high school.  The EML provides ground systems and flight systems with radio frequency detection, electromagnetic interference troubleshooting, and electromagnetic interference triangulation.

  • EME requirements development, plans, and electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
  • Electromagnetic Effects Analysis and Hardware Design Certification
  • Reradiating Antenna System (RAS) passive / active fiber optic...
  • EML Skills have benefitted spacecraft programs such as Space Station, Shuttle, ELV, ARES 1-X, Titan, Trident, 45th SW, and KSC Spacecraft Processing Facilities
  • P-Pod Launcher EMC testing
  • 70kg Payload Test Capability
